Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in film and TV is well known for movies such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her professional career in showbiz at a young age. Her roles included lead characters in television dramas as early as 16 years old. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, in Downfall. The film won an Oscar and won critical and commercial great success. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. In the past, Alexandra was involved in numerous important international and national productions. The projects include British biographical films like Control and The Dust of Time as along with the French historic miniseries Napoleon. The actress also served on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
